YOUR MISSION

The Workspace engineering team at MURAL helps connect imagination workers globally by making it easy for users to discover content and manage their work and by helping organizations understand and improve collaboration through reporting, analytics, and insights.

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the team. You will grow our business by helping a team of engineers build and ship great code, focusing specifically on a new product initiative at the intersection of user experience, product design, analytics, experimentation, and data warehousing. As a Staff Engineer for this team you will: 

  • Provide technical leadership to your engineering team, including technical direction setting, coaching, and architectural mentorship
  • Deliver new data-powered features to provide an intuitive experience
  • Be an advocate for new technologies, methods, and approaches to solving problems and achieving product goals
  • Be a core part of our technical design process
  • Fully understand user requirements and pain points to help solve them
  • Identify, study, and improve performance bottlenecks
  • Generate experiments, test them with production users, analyze, repeat
  • Build a culture of shipping great products
  • Build a culture of data driven experiences
  • Be accountable for and take ownership of your product
 
YOUR PROFILE
  • You have at least 2 years experience in a technical leadership position
  • You have designed systems that are used in large scale production environments
  • You have experience mentoring junior to senior software engineers
  • You have excellent technical skills and relevant experience with Javascript development (bonus: Typescript experience)
  • You have experience building APIs via REST and JSON (bonus: with NodeJS)
  • You have experience with web application development frameworks and tools like React, Express, Babel, Webpack, etc.
  • You have experience with a variety of data stores and designing suitable data models
  • You can lead highly complex programming tasks and provide code reviews for your team
  • You can provide analysis of complex problems and recommend solutions
  • You have a computer science degree or relevant professional experience
  • You have an excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • You have a bias for action
