This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Full-Stack Engineer based in the United States.
The Staff Full-Stack Engineer will provide hands-on technical leadership in the development and integration of a unified platform designed to help businesses make smarter, data-driven decisions. This senior individual contributor role spans the full technology stack, from front-end architecture and user experiences to APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. You will lead complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives, simplify existing systems, and establish scalable solutions that deliver measurable customer and business value. Working closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Site Reliability Engineering teams, you will shape technical strategy while remaining actively involved in coding, deployment, and continuous improvement. You will also champion responsible AI adoption, strengthen engineering standards, and mentor colleagues through technical guidance and collaboration. Join a distributed, international engineering environment that values innovation, pragmatic problem-solving, and meaningful impact.
Accountabilities:
- Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software across the front end and back end. Remain hands-on throughout the development lifecycle, from technical discovery and solution design to implementation, production deployment, and ongoing optimization.
- Platform Architecture and Integration: Lead the technical evolution of a unified platform by integrating products, services, and systems into a cohesive, scalable architecture. Identify opportunities to simplify fragmented systems, reduce technical complexity, and improve maintainability.
- Technical Leadership: Drive the delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple products, services, and engineering teams. Translate ambiguous business and technical challenges into actionable plans, clarify dependencies, identify risks, and communicate architectural tradeoffs early.
- API, Services, and Data Engineering: Design and evolve reliable, secure, and maintainable APIs, backend services, distributed systems, and data flows. Ensure seamless integration between components while maintaining strong standards for application security and data management.
- Product and User Experience: Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate customer needs and business objectives into intuitive, responsive, accessible, and scalable product experiences, particularly for complex data and analytics applications.
- Engineering Excellence: Establish and continuously improve engineering practices covering architecture, code quality, automated testing, documentation, code reviews, and software delivery. Promote pragmatic technical decisions that balance long-term sustainability with immediate business priorities.
- Performance, Reliability, and Security: Improve application performance, scalability, observability, and operational resilience. Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to ensure new capabilities meet production-readiness, reliability, and security expectations.
- Mentorship and Technical Influence: Raise engineering standards through thoughtful architecture and code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. Help engineers strengthen their technical judgment and develop into broader technical leadership roles without relying on formal authority.
- Responsible AI Adoption: Encourage the effective and responsible use of AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality. Explore opportunities to integrate AI-driven capabilities into customer-facing products.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with engineering colleagues across the United States, India, and France to coordinate technical decisions, share knowledge, and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes across distributed teams.
- Senior Engineering Experience: Significant experience building, shipping, and operating modern customer-facing software products at Staff, Lead, Principal, or equivalent senior individual contributor level.
- Full-Stack Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of front-end and back-end development, including modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, component-based architecture, and scalable application design.
- Backend and Distributed Systems: Strong experience designing APIs, backend services, distributed systems, and system integrations, with a solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and application security.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Demonstrated experience building and operating cloud-based applications using AWS or another major public cloud platform.
- Software Quality and Delivery: Practical experience with automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), production observability, performance optimization, scalability, and reliability engineering.
- Technical Architecture and Execution: Proven ability to lead technically complex initiatives across multiple teams, make sound architectural decisions, and influence engineering direction without formal management authority.
- Legacy Systems and Modernization: Ability to work effectively with existing codebases, improve legacy systems incrementally, and determine when rebuilding is justified versus when existing solutions should be evolved.
- AI-Forward Mindset: Interest in applying AI tools to improve software development workflows and identifying opportunities to deliver valuable AI-powered product capabilities.
- Product and Business Acumen: Strong product instincts and an understanding of how usability, accessibility, and design quality contribute to customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Comfortable collaborating across disciplines, time zones, and geographically distributed teams.
- Leadership and Problem-Solving: A pragmatic, hands-on approach to technical leadership, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity, prioritize effectively, mentor others, and balance architectural vision with practical delivery.
- Outcome-Oriented Approach: A commitment to building software that is reliable, scalable, maintainable, and valuable to customers rather than pursuing complexity for its own sake.
- Competitive Base Salary: Annual base salary of $160,000–$180,000, depending on experience, with compensation negotiable based on qualifications.
- Annual Performance Bonus: Eligibility for an additional annual bonus tied to performance.
- Comprehensive Healthcare: Health, dental, and vision benefits.
- Flexible Paid Time Off: Flexible PTO to support personal well-being, work-life balance, and time away from work.
- Fully Remote Work: Remote position for candidates based in the United States, offering flexibility in where you work.
- High-Impact Technical Leadership: The opportunity to influence platform architecture, engineering standards, and major technical initiatives while remaining hands-on with software development.
- Collaborative Engineering Culture: Work with an international, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, practical innovation, and shared success.
- Professional Growth: Opportunities to expand technical influence, mentor engineers, explore AI-driven technologies, and contribute to the evolution of a unified data and analytics platform.
- Purpose-Driven Innovation: Help build technology that enables brands to make more informed decisions through data, location analytics, and customer insights.
- Inclusive Work Environment: Join a team that values diverse perspectives, encourages bold thinking, and strives to create a welcoming and equitable workplace.
Requirements:
Candidates do not need to meet every requirement to be considered. Demonstrated ability to build and deliver excellent software, strong technical judgment, and enthusiasm for the role are valued alongside formal experience and qualifications.
