Copy of Senior Manager FP&A

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, FP&A based in the United States.

The Senior Manager, FP&A will lead financial planning, forecasting, and SaaS performance reporting for a private equity-backed software business operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This hands-on role will develop scalable, driver-based financial models that connect revenue, profitability, headcount, and cash flow to strategic business decisions. You will provide executive leadership with reliable financial insights, actionable performance analysis, and scenario-based recommendations to support sustainable growth and capital allocation. Working closely with cross-functional leaders, you will strengthen financial reporting, improve planning processes, and establish trusted SaaS metrics to guide operational performance. You will also contribute to mergers and acquisitions through financial diligence and integration modeling while supporting the evolution of the finance function. This is an opportunity for an analytical, forward-thinking finance professional to combine strategic influence with practical execution in a lean, fast-paced organization.

Accountabilities:

  • Financial Forecasting and Planning: Own revenue and operating profit forecasts, improving accuracy and maintaining reliable short-term outlooks. Develop and refine driver-based models covering revenue, margins, headcount, and cash flow to connect financial performance with underlying business drivers.
  • Management Reporting and Performance Analysis: Lead the monthly financial performance reporting process, including KPI scorecards, margin bridges, variance analysis, and actionable recommendations for executive leadership. Communicate financial trends, risks, and opportunities clearly to support timely, informed decisions.
  • SaaS Metrics and Reporting: Establish and maintain a consistent, reliable reporting framework for SaaS and annual recurring revenue (ARR) performance. Monitor key metrics such as monthly recurring revenue (MRR), net revenue retention (NRR), customer cohorts, customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (LTV), and unit economics.
  • Annual Budgeting and Strategic Planning: Manage the annual budgeting process and build multi-scenario financial models that establish clear guardrails for cash runway, profitability, and capital allocation. Develop target and stretch scenarios to help leadership evaluate strategic priorities and financial objectives.
  • Scenario Modeling and Business Partnership: Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to inform pricing decisions, go-to-market investments, resource allocation, and headcount planning. Collaborate with Operations, People, and Sales leaders to maintain plan integrity, validate assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions Support: Contribute to M&A financial diligence and integration planning, including quality of earnings reviews and supporting financial models. Partner with senior FP&A leadership throughout the diligence process and provide reliable analysis to support transaction evaluation and post-acquisition planning.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Strengthen financial modeling, reporting, and planning processes through automation, improved data integrity, and standardized methodologies. Build audit-ready, version-controlled models and establish scalable processes that can evolve with business complexity.
  • Cross-Functional and Team Leadership: Build strong working relationships across finance and operational teams, translating business activity into meaningful financial insights. Help establish clearer planning processes and reporting standards, with the potential to manage a direct report as the finance function grows.
  • Technology and Innovation: Explore and apply AI-powered tools to accelerate financial modeling, analysis, and reporting while maintaining analytical rigor, data quality, and appropriate controls.
  • Requirements:

  • Professional Experience: Six to nine years of progressive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience, ideally within a high-growth SaaS company or a private equity-backed business.
  • SaaS Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of subscription business models and key performance metrics, including ARR, MRR, NRR, cohort analysis, CAC/LTV, and unit economics. Familiarity with driver-based forecasting and SaaS financial performance measurement is essential.
  • Financial Modeling: Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and validate sophisticated, audit-ready operating models that connect financial indicators to business drivers and strategic decisions.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Experience managing financial forecasts, annual budgets, scenario planning, and sensitivity analyses, with the ability to establish realistic targets and evaluate stretch goals.
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including structured, version-controlled financial modeling. SQL proficiency is strongly preferred for independent data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • M&A Exposure: Some experience supporting M&A financial diligence, quality of earnings analysis, or integration modeling. Ability to contribute effectively in a supporting role alongside senior transaction leaders.
  • Private Equity Environment: Familiarity with private equity-backed reporting expectations, investor-focused performance reviews, and board-level reporting cycles is an advantage.
  • Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Comfort working in a lean, resource-constrained environment with imperfect data, evolving processes, and ambiguity. Ability to maintain momentum, exercise sound judgment, and deliver reliable analysis without requiring fully established systems.
  • Systems Thinking and Process Improvement: Strong interest in automation, process standardization, data integrity, and scalable financial reporting infrastructure.
  • AI and Technology Mindset: Hands-on experience using AI tools, such as Claude, or a strong interest in applying emerging technologies to improve modeling efficiency, reporting workflows, and analytical productivity.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain financial results, challenge assumptions constructively, and collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance leaders.
  • Leadership Potential: Ability to take ownership of core FP&A processes, influence business decisions through data-driven insights, and support the development of a growing finance function.
