Principal Platform Architect

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Platform Architect to help shape and build the next generation of the Trilon Digital Platform.

This is a critical technical leadership role responsible for defining the platform architecture, guiding engineering decisions, and establishing the shared services and technical foundation that enable our digital products to scale.

The ideal candidate combines strong experience in modern cloud-native architecture, enterprise integration, data platforms, and AI-enabled applications with a practical, delivery-oriented mindset.

We are not looking for someone who only creates architecture diagrams. We need a technical leader who can work alongside engineering teams, make pragmatic design decisions, solve complex problems, and help turn our vision into working capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture: Define and evolve the overall architecture of the Trilon Digital Platform, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and flexibility.
  • Shared Services: Design reusable platform capabilities, including identity and access management, APIs, notifications, workflow orchestration, and common application services.
  • Cloud & Engineering: Establish modern cloud-native architecture, engineering standards, CI/CD practices, observability, and deployment patterns.
  • Enterprise Integration: Design integration patterns connecting enterprise systems, engineering applications, and digital products across Trilon firms.
  • Data Architecture Collaboration: Partner with data engineering and the Data Architect to enable secure, consistent access to enterprise data through shared services and APIs.
  • AI Enablement: Define reusable architecture and services for integrating generative AI, AI agents, and intelligent automation into digital products.
  • Technical Leadership: Work hands-on with engineering teams on solution design, architecture reviews, technical decisions, and complex implementation challenges.
  • Architecture Roadmap: Develop an incremental architecture roadmap that balances immediate product delivery with long-term platform scalability.
  • Security & Reliability: Partner with IT and Security to ensure enterprise-grade security, access controls, monitoring, and operational readiness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, IT, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience in platform architecture, distributed systems, or enterprise software.
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale SaaS platforms or cloud-native applications.
  • Experience integrating platforms such as Autodesk, Esri ArcGIS, Bentley, Deltek Vantagepoint, or enterprise content management systems.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, REST APIs, event streaming, and modern integration frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of cloud services, containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability.
  • Experience designing secure enterprise integrations across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Familiarity with modern data architectures, including data lakes, lakehouses, data pipelines, and API-based data access.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML application architecture, including LLM integration, RAG, vector search, and AI orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture, identity and access management, authorization, and enterprise data protection.
