The IT Integration Engineer integrates newly acquired firms into Trilon’s enterprise IT environment. The role executes Microsoft 365 and Entra ID integrations and Active Directory consolidation while managing assigned IT integration projects.
Reporting to the Director of IT Integrations, who owns the overall process and provides project oversight, this role works alongside the Senior Integration Engineer and other Integration Engineers. The Senior Integration Engineer provides technical guidance, owns technical tools and processes, and participates in execution. Engineers own assigned workstreams and maintain the knowledge to cover all aspects of an integration.
Strong Microsoft infrastructure fundamentals and practical troubleshooting skills are essential. Candidates with strong relevant experience can develop migration and project management expertise with the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned integration projects with Director oversight and Senior Integration Engineer guidance. Coordinate plans, schedules, risks, dependencies, status reporting, and weekly calls across Security, Infrastructure, Production Technology, and Strategy and Portfolio Management until all functional units complete their required tasks.
- Conduct technical discovery, document systems and dependencies, and recommend mappings for users, domains, groups, and data into Trilon’s environment. Develop migration approaches and necessary technical solutions with the Senior Integration Engineer and responsible teams.
- Execute Microsoft 365 migrations, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, Entra ID integrations, and Active Directory consolidation using established standards and runbooks. Own assigned workstreams while maintaining the knowledge and flexibility to cover all integration activities.
- Troubleshoot identity, mail flow, DNS, and related dependencies; modify existing PowerShell scripts and Microsoft Graph requests to resolve time-sensitive migration issues. Assist with software deployments through Group Policy, ScreenConnect, Intune, or other delivery methods as needed.
- Complete migration readiness checks, identify risks, establish recovery or rollback plans, and participate in collective team go/no-go decisions. Validate data, access, mail flow, and service functionality after cutover, resolving issues and documenting results.
- Coordinate the transition from legacy support workflows to Trilon’s support processes at tenant migration. Work closely with the business, Service Delivery, Helpdesk, and Field Support through stabilization to address gaps, clarify ownership, communicate changes, and provide training or onsite assistance as needed.
- Assess legacy systems and dependencies, recommend retention, consolidation, or retirement, and develop retirement plans with responsible teams. When assigned, take ownership of completing those plans across IT infrastructure and cloud systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, apply enterprise security standards, and coordinate exceptions with responsible teams. Improve runbooks, tools, and automation with the Senior Integration Engineer; contribute to infrastructure modernization, operational initiatives, troubleshooting, and escalations when not actively executing integrations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or IT integration experience, typically five or more years, or equivalent demonstrated technical capability.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID, and hybrid identity, including authentication, access, and dependencies across connected systems.
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration experience, with a solid understanding of mail flow, DNS, and related troubleshooting.
- Ability to read, understand, modify, and troubleshoot existing PowerShell scripts and Microsoft Graph requests used to administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Ability to diagnose unfamiliar issues, adapt established tools and scripts, and apply sound technical judgment during time-sensitive migrations.
- Strong organization, documentation, and project coordination skills, including tracking schedules, dependencies, risks, and commitments across teams and explaining technical requirements and recommendations to business leaders.
