About the role
As a Freelance Content Creator at Welcome Pickups, you will get an exciting and international position and you will be joining a successful, positive, and ambitious team.

The digital marketing department is growing as the company expands, including numerous incredible external partners. Its overall goal is to drive activities that support the company’s commercial goals, while protecting and developing its brand.

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for writing and editing the company’s communication in different stages of the sales funnel, with core focus on B2C SEO website content, while ensuring an all-around consistency in style and tone.

Specifically, core responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Research: Delve into understanding the target audience by engaging in thorough online research, examining existing studies, and analysing customer feedback.
  • Develop Original Content: Craft fresh, captivating content that aligns with specified requirements and resonates with the company’s unique tone of voice and writing style.
  • Ensure Editorial Excellence: Meticulously edit and proofread your own work,  upholding the highest editorial standards and ensuring clarity, accuracy, and coherence in all copy.
  • Collaborate and Present Ideas: Collaboratively present copy concepts and completed projects to the internal team, showcasing creativity and alignment with project goals.
  • Incorporate Feedback for Refinement: Actively revise and refine copy based on constructive feedback from the internal team, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to excellence.
  • Adhere to Content Calendar: Remain vigilant and proactive in managing and meeting deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of content as per the established content calendar.
  • Update and Optimize Existing Content: Assist the team with content optimisation and updating of older content on the website, ensuring it remains relevant, up-to-date, accurate, and SEO-optimised.

Requirements

  • English Language, English Literature, Marketing, Communications or Journalism degree.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of WordPress CMS. Experience with PublishPress and YOAST SEO will be considered a plus.
  • Proven experience in digital content editing and proofreading
  • Strong knowledge of SEO techniques and best practices
  • Proficiency in (British) English; grammar, syntax and vocabulary.
  • Excellent research skills to ensure accuracy and usefulness of content
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Travel industry expertise is a plus.

 

This freelance opportunity is remote, full-time, and open to candidates worldwide, however some flexibility will be required to meet with the team when needed between 11am-6pm (GMT+2).
