About the role:

You are a product leader who can lead multiple teams in building our next generation pricing system. You will own our highly impactful pricing products that monetize nearly $1bn annually in our marketplace.  You will design, build, and iterate on pricing models that help maximize Service Professional (Pro) ROI, and help balance the supply & demand in our marketplace.  You are passionate about solving problems, and you think beyond the next step to get to the best solution.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain our existing pricing models that determine how much we should charge pros for specific transactions and advertising contracts.  You will maintain the health of those existing products by closely monitoring key metrics and resolving production issues.
  • Partner closely with Strategy, Data Science, and Engineering to build our next generation pricing models that will allow us to iterate more quickly, optimize Pro ROI, and create a balanced marketplace by enabling smarter pricing decisions.
  • You think about pricing as more than just a tool to raise revenue, you understand the long term impacts and can partner with strategy to craft a compelling business case to strategically assess and address gaps in our pricing beyond short term impacts.
  • Own and build a roadmap for Marketplace Pricing that has ambitious goals, builds momentum, and inspires passion in the engineering & Data Science team you’ll partner with.
  • Partner closely with engineering to build scalable and resilient data models and solutions.
  • Use SQL to dig deep into the data to help refine requirements.
  • Craft and communicate compelling stories based on a deep understanding of the products and metrics you own.
  • Thrive within ambiguity and find new, creative ways to solve problems every day, with data as your guide.
  • Identify and launch new product ideas with a thoughtful testing approach.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize the most important things to get to an MVP quickly, while keeping track of tech debt so we never end up with half baked solutions.

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of product experience, including leadership of an engineering team. If not direct Product Management experience, you have experience solving problems for customers and leading a team to build solutions.
  • A track record of innovating on behalf of customers and developing ‘new to the world’ products.
  • Deep analytical skills using both qualitative and quantitative data to influence key stakeholders and make compelling product decisions.
  • Deep experience testing at scale, including partnering with data science or analytics/BI to build new products.
  • Strong Project Management skills so that you’re able to balance a multitude of priorities and manage expectations for your team, leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with stakeholders, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities.
  • Familiarity and comfort with data, including the ability to use data to analyze and monitor product health and to make hard prioritization decisions, as well as using SQL to dive into the data directly to refine requirements, make decisions, and answer questions.
  • Superior communication skills: You can tell a compelling story, you communicate clearly and concisely and can tailor your message to your audience.
  • You make good decisions with incomplete data and are constantly optimizing for learning. You find creative ways around blockers and always have an option for what’s next and never an excuse for why you can’t proceed.
  • You inspire others to bring their ‘A’ game and are constantly looking for opportunities for improvement. You don’t accept “because that is the way we’ve always done it.”
  • You can seamlessly straddle thinking about both the product and the business and are equally comfortable talking about funnel metrics and P+L’s. You never say “that is not my job.”

We value diversity:

We know that the best ideas come from product teams where diverse points of view uncover new solutions to hard problems.  We welcome and value individuals who bring diverse life experiences, educational backgrounds, cultures, and work experiences.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $130,000 – $190,000, commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
