Meet The Team:

Support the definition creation of a product that meets customer needs as effectively and efficiently as possible. Collaborate with a wide range of people to identify and define customer needs, understand expectations and business value, and support development of the Product Roadmap and Features required to meet these needs. Assist with the transition of the business to a product-focused company. Support or own a component of the product offering and help define strategy and vision for it. Own the creation, oversight, and execution of processes to drive product and company goals. 

What You’ll Do: 

  •  Support in developing a shared product vision, and roadmap in close collaboration with engineering managers, technical domain experts in areas including planning, perception, prediction, controls, software engineering, cloud services, and automotive or computing hardware, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and relevant stakeholders. Gather user requirements, build product requirements, and communicate to engineering and other stakeholders at all levels of planning and execution.
  • Define clear and concise product requirements based on customer feedback, market research, and business priorities, and effectively communicate them to the development team.
  • Be the face of Torc to the customer and the customer to Torc in collaboration, complete research requests, work to understand and prioritize feature request, and set expectations around budget, scope, and timeline of delivery. Translate customer and other stakeholder needs to product requirements.
  • Develop and improve processes and documentation to ensure cross-functional alignment between teams and projects. Support the process rollout and iterative cycle for continuous improvement. Participate in regular planning exercises to support product priorities across the company. Keep roadmaps, backlogs, and other planning artifacts continuously up to date. Work across the company to gather support and buy-in for new and updated processes.
  • Analyze and understand technical constraints and tradeoffs by collaborating with engineering to inform product roadmaps and backlogs. Select path forward, if necessary, with input from stakeholders as needed.
  • Define, analyze, communicate, and continuously update key product plans and metrics to ensure priorities remain up to date. 
  • Support demos and continuously assess metrics to gain visibility into feature execution. Remove impediments to feature completion and business value add.
  • Collaborate, research, review competitor communications, and analyze and compare competing products to ensure Torc maintains the best products available.
  • Own your sub-product’s business case. Collaborate with Finance on financial planning and strategy. Analyze and understand budget, shortfalls, and costs to maintain ROI and the financial constraints. Communicate financial related issues to senior management as soon as possible.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create product strategies and branding for communications.
  • Assist with setting the product vision and strategy for the product development teams.
  • Help the product team set, track, and achieve goals aligned with company-wide vision, goals, and initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to grow and evolve the organization. Identify future growth areas for the product. Support customer-focused development across Torc and support the business to embracing customer-centric work culture.

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • Demonstrates competences and technical proficiencies typically acquired through a degree in business, engineering, computer science, or related field
    • BS 10+ years of experience, MS+ 7+ years of experience, or PHD+ 5+ years of experience.
  • Full lifecycle, from discovery to decommissioning, product experience.
  • Experience working closely with an OEM or Tier 1 relationship on a large, multi-year project. 
  • Understanding of legacy EE architectures and protocols.
  • Understanding of modern software-defined vehicle architectures. 
  • Understanding of OS and middleware purposes and the criteria that goes into selection for a given application. 
  • Experience with AUTOSTAR or similar products.

Bonus Points: 

  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 design & release experience. 
  • Experience with developing software for or specifying requirements for a QNX based product. 
  • Vehicle manufacturing experience, either at a plant or having released products to a plant. 
  • Knowledge of network communications, fault strategies, health monitoring, etc. for complex hardware systems. 
  • Prior experience developing a comprehensive middleware strategy.
