Senior Product Designer

Overview of the role:

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be instrumental in bringing products to life that not only solve real customer problems but also enhance the overall user experience. You will be involved in every aspect of the product development process – from conducting research to creating innovative designs and guiding them through to development. This role will be instrumental in building out new accounts functionality, top of the funnel conversion strategies and helping us launch a new design system before the end of the year. There is a lot to do and this human will be a big part of our growth!
What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead Design of Accounts Dashboard: On our Accounts team, you’ll be leading the design of our new accounts dashboard and bringing solutions to life that help customers manage their insurance policies and products independently.
  • Support Design of Top of Funnel CRO Initiatives: On our top of funnel team, you’ll be joining another product designer in developing AB tests that aim to improve conversion rates (from landing on our website to getting an instant quote and starting an insurance application).
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work cross-functionally from exploration to execution, crafting meticulous high-fidelity designs that serve our customers’ needs.
  • Design Iteration: Lead the design of complex products and continuously refine sketches, wireframes, and designs across various device types, integrating customer feedback, research insights, and internal team input.
  • Visual Interface Design: Create delightful interfaces using an existing design system and prepare prototypes for usability testing.
  • Design System Contribution: Utilize a deep understanding of design principles to help define the team’s internal design system and processes.
  • User Testing Support: Validate concepts through user testing, conducting customer research, and performing usability testing as needed.
  • Quality Enhancement: Actively participate in critique sessions, providing and seeking feedback to elevate the team’s design quality.
  • Impact Measurement: Evaluate the effectiveness of launched solutions to inform future iterations.
  • Communication: Present design concepts and deliverables to stakeholders, articulating design rationale.
  • What we are looking for:
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience within a product design setting, preferably in the digital B2B2C/B2C space. Experience working on dashboards or products with complex information architecture is a significant asset.
  • Product Development Knowledge: You have a comprehensive understanding of the product development process, from problem definition to detailed UI and visual design.
  • Customer Empathy: Your design decisions are grounded in research, including customer interviews, quantitative data, and usability testing, all aimed at improving the lives of Canadian families.
  • Attention to Detail: You are meticulous about crafting intuitive and highly polished customer experiences.
  • Curiosity and Learning: You are a lifelong learner, always seeking to improve your processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Team Player: You prioritize the needs of customers, the team, and the company, staying humble in your approach.
  • Balance of Speed and Quality: You understand the importance of balancing quality with speed, striving to deliver best-in-class customer experiences quickly and frequently.
