What we’re up to:

At Homebound, we’re using Service Design to reimagine the entire homebuilding industry. Our innovative cross-functional teams pair Product, Design, and Engineering with our in-house expertise in the areas of real estate investment and construction. Together, we’re using connected real-time data and AI to transform the end-to-end system of how our high-yield real estate investment fund can be continually reused to build beautiful, high-quality homes that are serviced by a 10-year warranty.

We’re looking for a talented Senior Product Designer with a specialization in Service Design to join our innovative team at Homebound. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in transforming the collaborations that take place between Investment Capital, Architecture, Design, Construction Operations, Procurement, and Trade Partners to ensure the delivery of exceptional homes to homeowners. What You’ll Do:

  • Develop a deep compassionate understanding of the many ways finance, architecture, design, construction, and procurement work together to build for homeowners.

  • Lead discovery efforts to map out our understanding of the current challenges of the homebuilding process, distill insights, and imagine better ways of doing things that you can prototype and iterate on with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Product, Eng and Stakeholders to deliver both the high level strategy and an incremental roadmap of improvements that get us there.

  • Make sure initiatives are solving the right problems, improve our success metrics, make sure our MVPs are scoped appropriately, lean into early learnings, and champion our user-centric commitment to follow through on v1 and v2.

  • Contribute as a valuable member of the product design team, participating in design critiques, mentoring others, running workshops, and developing our design system.

  • Foster a friendly collaborative culture with efficient communications across the many squads of our business to ensure seamless integration of work areas.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent professional experience

  • Minimum 6 years of product design experience

  • A passionate interest in service design experience

  • Experience with early-stage high-growth startups

  • Experience building digital services that improve real-world operations

  • Experience working with multiple design systems across companies

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality digital products

  • Positive and proactive work ethic

  • Self-directed with a collaborative mindset

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Humble, approachable, insights-driven, and receptive to others

  • Strong leadership in design thinking methods and principles

  • Experience in guiding teams through Service Design methodologies

  • Ability to conduct and lead design research

  • Excellent design component and prototyping skills in Figma

  • Ability to understand and simplify complex systems

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across teams

  • Ability to define and improve success metrics and measured impact

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply.
