Requirements

Rimkus is seeking highly accomplished professionals to serve as Strategic Expert Consultants within our growing practice areas. These roles are ideal for technical experts, forensic consultants, and industry leaders who possess deep subject matter expertise, strong client relationship skills, and a desire to contribute to complex investigations, litigation matters, insurance claims, and risk management initiatives.

Successful candidates will provide technical leadership, conduct investigations, author defensible technical reports, serve as expert witnesses when required, and support business development efforts within their area of specialization.

Technical Consulting & Investigations

  • Lead complex forensic investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Evaluate failures, incidents, accidents, and performance issues.
  • Conduct site inspections, testing, and technical assessments.
  • Analyze engineering, scientific, operational, and regulatory data.
  • Develop defensible conclusions supported by industry standards and best practices.

Expert Reporting & Litigation Support

  • Prepare clear, concise, and defensible technical reports.
  • Support attorneys, insurance carriers, corporations, municipalities, and government agencies.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings.
  • Serve as an expert witness when qualified and assigned.

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strategic client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and cross-selling services.
  • Participate in industry associations and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Support proposal development and presentations.

Practice Leadership

  • Mentor junior consultants and technical staff.
  • Contribute to technical excellence initiatives.
  • Assist in expanding national service offerings.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on large-scale assignments.

Ideal Backgrounds

Electrical Engineering

  • Power systems, electrical failures, renewable energy, industrial systems, arc flash investigations, and electrical code compliance.

Fire Protection Engineering

  • Origin and cause investigations, fire protection systems, code analysis, combustion science, and fire suppression systems.

Environmental Consulting

  • Environmental compliance, contamination assessment, remediation, industrial hygiene, and regulatory investigations.

Property Consulting

  • Commercial and residential property damage assessments, catastrophe response, construction defects, and building systems analysis.

Products Liability

  • Product failure investigations, manufacturing defects, safety assessments, risk analysis, and consumer product evaluations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive professional experience.
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
  • Proven client-facing experience.
  • Ability to travel as required throughout the United States.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, JD, or equivalent).
  • Expert witness experience.
  • Publication or speaking experience within industry organizations.
  • Demonstrated business development success.
  • Established professional network within relevant markets.
