Overview

We’re hiring a Senior FastAPI Backend Developer to design and build scalable backend systems and APIs for modern web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using FastAPI
• Build modular APIs for internal and external applications
• Design data models and database interactions using Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL
• Implement complex business logic and workflows
• Integrate third-party APIs and services
• Identify and resolve backend performance and reliability issues
• Contribute to backend architecture and technical decisions
• Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure engineers on application delivery

Must Have

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Production experience with FastAPI
• Hands-on experience with Pydantic and SQLAlchemy
• Strong experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and implementing complex business workflows
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency in Python
• Ability to work independently within an existing codebase and make sound technical decisions

Good to Have

• Experience with Celery, Dramatiq, Redis, or RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience with workflow orchestration
• Exposure to Next.js or modern frontend frameworks
• Experience building SaaS products or internal business applications
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations or AI-powered applications
• Experience with backend performance optimization and scaling
