About the Role

MASHVERA is looking for a Senior AI Backend / Azure Platform Engineer to develop, integrate and productionize enterprise AI applications on Microsoft Azure.

This role focuses on backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, API development, deployment automation, reliability and production operations.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who can take existing AI applications from MVP or prototype to secure, scalable and production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Deploy and operate AI applications on Microsoft Azure.
• Implement containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Integrate Azure OpenAI and enterprise AI services into backend applications.
• Develop secure API integrations with enterprise systems and databases.
• Implement authentication, authorization, RBAC and secrets management.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and deployment workflows.
• Implement application logging, monitoring, distributed tracing and alerting.
• Improve application scalability, reliability, performance and fault tolerance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support deployment, release and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with GenAI engineers, architects and security specialists.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong Python, FastAPI and backend microservices development.
• Microsoft Azure cloud engineering experience.
• Docker, Kubernetes and AKS.
• REST APIs, authentication, OAuth2/JWT and API security.
• Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis and asynchronous processing.
• Production troubleshooting, observability and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating production applications.

Preferred Skills

• Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry and AI application integrations.
• Terraform or Bicep infrastructure as code.
• Azure API Management, Service Bus and Event Grid.
• OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience productionizing GenAI or LLM-based applications.

Engagement Details

• Fully remote from India.
• Dedicated, full-time engagement, Monday to Friday.
• Initial 3-month contract (renewable/extendable).
• Focus on enterprise AI backend engineering and Azure production readiness.
