Dynamic Active Inc. is an EdTech startup developing innovative software solutions for the education sector. Our current product, Lighthouse K12, is a web and mobile platform designed to streamline teacher evaluations and classroom observations for school districts and educational administrators.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA & Software Testing Intern to help ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of our software as we continue developing and improving our platform.
About the Role
As a QA & Software Testing Intern, you will work closely with our development team to test existing features, identify software defects, document bugs, and verify fixes. You will play an important role in improving the overall user experience and ensuring that new and existing features function as intended.
This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in software quality assurance, testing methodologies, and the software development lifecycle while contributing to a real-world EdTech product.
Responsibilities
Conduct manual testing of web and mobile application features.
Identify, reproduce, document, and report software bugs and inconsistencies.
Perform functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing.
Test user workflows, including account creation, authentication, navigation, and application functionality.
Verify that reported bugs have been properly resolved by developers.
Collaborate with full-stack developers to communicate issues and assist with troubleshooting.
Evaluate application performance, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
Create and maintain test cases, testing checklists, and bug reports.
Identify potential improvements to software functionality and usability.
Participate in ongoing quality assurance throughout the development process.
Qualifications
Interest in software quality assurance, software testing, or application development.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to identify inconsistencies and communicate technical issues clearly.
Familiarity with web applications and mobile application functionality.
Basic understanding of software development concepts.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a development team.
Strong written communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with manual software testing or QA methodologies.
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Trello, Postman, or similar testing and project management platforms.
Basic knowledge of FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Next.js.
Familiarity with browser developer tools.
Exposure to automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
