Wellfound job post — AI-native, remote, trial-based
About SkillWhimsy
SkillWhimsy is a learning platform with an AI tutor that talks learners through short courses: a spoken intro, then questions with feedback on every wrong answer. Curriculum editors build and refine the material through our Curriculum Editor, an MCP tool that runs inside Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex. You edit by chatting, not by filling in forms.
We've just laid out a large curriculum, the Professions and Skills Academy, covering dozens of trades and professions — construction trades (masonry, carpentry, electrical, welding, CNC), health and care, hospitality, logistics, beauty and wellness, business and admin, and more. The structure is there, but almost every course is still a skeleton. It needs people who've actually done the job to fill it with real, accurate content.
What we need
Someone with genuine hands-on experience in one of the trades or professions already laid out in the Academy — not just interest in the subject, actual practice or a trade qualification. You own one area, build it properly, and bring the first real learners to it.
What you'd do
- Pick one profession or trade already outlined in the Academy (e.g. masonry, electrical installation, welding, elderly care, logistics, hairdressing — the full list is wide) and build it out through the Curriculum Editor MCP: real questions, step-by-step explanations, and genuine visual content (images, diagrams, tables) where a wall of text won't teach the point.
- Bring in the first real learners for your area, through whatever channel makes sense for that trade (a trade community, a vocational school contact, your own network).
The trial (this replaces a CV screen)
- Register on SkillWhimsy, complete the Curriculum Editor onboarding course, install the MCP (Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Codex).
- Look at the Professions and Skills Academy curriculum and pick one course in your trade to build out properly, to a real quality bar, with genuine visual content.
- Tell us how you'd bring in the first learners for that course, and try it.
- Our bar isn't sign-ups — it's 10 learners who actually come back and use it more than once. Tell us honestly what you'd expect, and why.
Compensation
Every collaboration starts at a weekly rate for about 4 hours of work:
- €100 a week: you keep a pool of 2–3 learners, talk to one of them each week, and write a short report on how they see the course.
- €50 a week: you build or tune the course and review others, without a running pool of learners.
Over time, your course's revenue share replaces the weekly rate. 90% of what learners pay goes to curriculum editors: the first payment in full, 25% of renewals for up to 12 months, and a share of a common pool. Full details here: https://skillwhimsy.com/en/curriculum-editors
