Principal Enterprise AI Architect

This role begins as a paid fractional/project-based engagement. The salary range shown reflects the expected full-time equivalent for the role and does not represent guaranteed initial compensation.

I’m looking to connect with a senior Principal Enterprise AI Architect / AI Engineering Leader to work with NodixAI on enterprise AI engagements.

We’re starting this as a fractional / project-based engagement, with the intention of building a long-term relationship and the opportunity to transition into a core full-time technical leadership role as NodixAI scales.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical side of client discovery and translate business and system requirements into end-to-end enterprise AI architecture.
• Architect solutions spanning RAG and enterprise knowledge systems, agentic workflows, AI-enabled applications, data integration, and production deployment.
• Integrate AI with existing enterprise applications, APIs, databases, data platforms, identity systems, and operational workflows.
• Design secure cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including private networking, IAM, containers/Kubernetes, serverless, IaC, and observability.
• Design enterprise data and integration architectures across APIs, event-driven systems, CDC, batch/streaming pipelines, structured/unstructured data, and enterprise data platforms.
• Define security and governance requirements including identity, least privilege, data protection, auditability, traceability, and private deployment patterns.
• Translate requirements into technical scope, estimates, architectural tradeoffs, risks, and implementation plans.
• Provide technical leadership through implementation and production deployment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise architecture, cloud, data, integration, or distributed systems.
• Deep recent experience architecting and delivering production GenAI / LLM systems.
• Strong experience with RAG, enterprise knowledge systems, agents, workflow orchestration, evaluation, and production AI patterns.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data, integration, security, and private/VPC deployment patterns.
• Broad knowledge of the enterprise AI landscape, with the ability to evaluate and select appropriate models, platforms, frameworks, and tooling.
• Strong customer-facing experience in enterprise consulting, professional services, solution architecture, technical presales, or complex engineering engagements.
• Experience working directly with U.S. mid-market or enterprise technology teams.

Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture and tenant isolation is a plus.
