Learning Facilitator

About Magic

Backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital, Magic has spent 10+ years connecting fast-growing businesses with top remote talent.

Role Overview

This is a full-time, in-house Magic role with full benefits. It’s not freelance and not client-placed. You’re the one in the virtual room turning new hires into Executive Assistants (EAs) who can hold their own with US clients. Your craft is the live session: reading the room, asking the question that makes a trainee find the answer themselves, and spotting the moment a slide is losing people. You also make the call on when someone is truly ready, not just “probably ready.” The Training Supervisor is your first stop for support, and the Assistant Training Manager has your back on the big calls.
Schedule: fixed from day one, weekdays, 9 PM – 6 AM PHT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer daily live virtual sessions for your batch so trainees leave with something they can use on a real client task that same night, not just a checked box.
  • Ask guiding questions instead of handing over answers, and hold your ground when a trainee fishes for the answer.
  • Score every assessment against the rubric, not your gut, and defend the call when it’s reviewed.
  • Stage mock client intro calls and mock interviews that feel uncomfortably real, then fold checkpoint scores and session notes into one readiness call per trainee.
  • Retool content, role-plays, and delivery with the Assistant Training Manager whenever a session isn’t landing. Ship at least one improvement a quarter that measurably moves engagement or retention.
  • Raise performance risks and program gaps early to the Training Supervisor first.

Qualifications & Technical Requirements

  • 1+ year of virtual training experience with a track record you can point to
  • 1+ recent year working as a VA/EA with US clients
  • Experience running live sessions and mock interviews, and giving structured, constructive feedback
  • A real grasp of different learning styles, and the habit of adjusting mid-session instead of finishing the deck
  • Daily, hands-on use of Claude (or ChatGPT and similar tools) at work, and the skill to teach others to use AI well
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Discord, and Slack
  • Solid presentation skills in Google Slides, Canva, or similar
  • Fully comfortable with a fixed overnight (PHT) schedule
  • Excellent spoken and written English, clear enough to teach EAs who work with US clients
  • WFH setup: reliable home workspace with 40 Mbps internet

Why You’ll Be a Great Fit

You’d rather ask a good question than give a good lecture. When a session stalls, you change the exercise on the spot instead of pushing through the slides. You can look a trainee in the eye (virtually) and say “not ready yet,” then tell them exactly why and what to do about it. You grade by the rubric even when your gut disagrees. You treat AI as a daily tool and enjoy showing others how to put it to work. And you stay calm when the clock and the stakes both go up.
