About Parallel
Parallel is a product and web design studio. Our clients are usually software companies in the US and Europe, and craft & taste are the reason they hire us. Quality is our competitive advantage. Most of the industry is optimising for speed right now, and we think craft holds its value longer. We sweat the details and we make it seem effortless.
Your role
The website is the piece of a company’s design that everyone sees. It carries the brand, it does the selling, and it is usually the first real thing a customer touches. We are looking for a designer with impeccable taste and a deep command of the web to lead that work at Parallel. You will design our most important sites yourself and set the standard for every website the studio ships. It is a hands-on, high-ownership role.
What you’ll do
Lead the web design on our biggest client projects, from the first concept to launch.
Work out how a brand behaves on the web, through type, colour, grid, and motion.
Design the sites we make for clients: homepage, product pages, pricing, landing pages.
Art direct photography, illustration, and 3D when a page needs it.
Present the work and the reasoning to clients, and iterate on the feedback.
Review the web work of other designers on the team and help them make it better.
Work with our developers so the site that ships matches the site you designed.
Work alongside our product designers so the site and the product feel cohesive.
Shape how Parallel designs for the web as the practice grows.
What you would bring
6+ years designing websites, at a studio, an agency, or in-house at a software company.
You have led web projects, with other designers working alongside you or reporting to you.
Exceptional craft and a sharp eye for typography. This is what separates good web work from decoration.
A strong grasp of brand systems. You can work inside one, and extend it when the website needs more than the guidelines cover.
Motion and interaction skill: scroll behaviour, transitions, the small movements that make a page feel alive. After Effects, Lottie, Rive, or Framer’s own motion tools.
Fluency in Figma, and enough command of Framer or Webflow to know what is possible once a site gets built.
You are comfortable presenting to founders, and you can hold your ground on a decision that matters.
You use AI consciously in your process, and you know where it helps and where it gets in the way.
Good to have
Brand identity work of your own, beyond applying someone else’s.
Enough front-end knowledge to talk to a developer precisely.
