Investment Analyst – Sartafe Finance
Sartafe Finance | Luxembourg | Full-time

About Sartafe Finance
Sartafe Finance is an independent Luxembourg-based investment firm focused on identifying promising investment opportunities across early-stage businesses and selected alternative asset classes.

We are developing our presence within the startup ecosystem, with a particular interest in Seed to Series A companies across Europe and the United States.

The Role
We are looking for a motivated, analytical and entrepreneurial Investment Analyst to help identify promising startups, build relationships with dedicated founders, and develop a high-quality pipeline of potential investment opportunities.

You will work closely with the firm's leadership, contributing to startup sourcing, market research, preliminary investment analysis and founder outreach. This is an opportunity to gain direct exposure to early-stage investing and work in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research promising startups at the Seed to Series A stages.
  • Source founders and companies through startup databases, professional networks, accelerators, industry events and direct outreach.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective investment opportunities.
  • Assess business models, market potential, competitive positioning, founding teams and growth prospects.
  • Conduct preliminary financial analysis, market research and investment screening.
  • Prepare concise company profiles, opportunity summaries and preliminary investment memos.
  • Initiate and manage professional relationships with founders and entrepreneurs.
  • Track fundraising activity, investment rounds and developments within relevant startup ecosystems.
  • Support due diligence and investment evaluation when appropriate.
  • Provide regular updates on sourcing activity, pipeline quality and emerging opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of experience in investment analysis, venture capital, private equity, corporate finance, transaction advisory, consulting or a startup environment.
  • A genuine interest in startups, entrepreneurship and early-stage investing.
  • Strong research, analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • The ability to identify promising companies and communicate effectively with founders.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and sound professional judgement.
  • A proactive, independent and discreet working style.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with startup databases and financial modelling is an advantage.

What Success Looks Like

  • Building a consistent pipeline of relevant, high-quality startup opportunities.
  • Establishing meaningful relationships with founders and ecosystem participants.
  • Producing clear, well-researched company assessments.
  • Identifying businesses that fit the firm's investment interests and strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrating initiative, sound judgement and reliable execution.

What We Offer

  • Direct exposure to early-stage investment sourcing and evaluation.
  • Close collaboration with the firm's leadership.
  • The opportunity to develop relationships across the European and US startup ecosystems.
  • A broad view of entrepreneurial businesses, fundraising processes and private-market investing.
  • A professional environment that values initiative, discretion, intellectual curiosity and long-term thinking.

Location and Working Arrangements
The role is based in Luxembourg, with the possibility of remote or hybrid arrangements depending on the candidate's location and the firm's operational needs. International candidates with relevant experience and strong communication skills are welcome to apply, subject to employment and work-authorisation requirements.

How to Apply
Please submit your CV and a short cover note explaining your interest in early-stage investing, your experience identifying promising companies, and why you would like to work with Sartafe Finance.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, resourceful and genuinely committed to working with ambitious founders.
