Do you have hands-on experience drafting U.S. wood-framed residential homes? We're looking for an experienced Architectural Drafter to support our client's internal design and construction documentation team.
This is a technical drafting role focused on producing accurate construction documents, not conceptual design or 3D visualization.
What You'll Do
- Create architectural floor plans, elevations, and foundation plans
- Draft floor, wall, and roof framing plans
- Convert sketches, redlines, and markups into accurate CAD drawings
- Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP information
- Ensure drawing accuracy, consistency, and quality control
What We're Looking For
✅ Proven experience with U.S. wood-framed residential construction (required)
✅ AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software
✅ Experience with framing plans, construction documents, and residential permitting sets
✅ Strong understanding of U.S. wood-frame building methods and lumber specifications
✅ Ability to follow drafting standards, templates, and layer structures
✅ Willingness to complete a practical CAD assessment
Nice to Have
- New York residential project experience
- MEP coordination experience
- Light commercial project exposure
- Knowledge of U.S. building codes and permitting documentation
Important
This role requires direct experience working on U.S. wood-frame residential projects. Candidates whose experience is primarily in concrete, steel, civil drafting, or non-residential projects will not be considered.
