National Guitar Academy is looking for a new on-camera guitar instructor to lead the creation of our next generation of courses.
Our previous instructor helped thousands of students learn guitar through clear explanations, a relaxed teaching style, and a welcoming on-camera presence. We are now looking for someone who can step into a similar role and help shape the future of our course library.
This role is a great fit for a confident guitar teacher who enjoys being on camera, works well independently, and wants real ownership of the course-creation process.
About the Role
You will create complete online guitar courses from start to finish. This includes idea development, lesson planning, filming, and working with our video editor to deliver polished final products.
You will play a key role in shaping students’ experience at National Guitar Academy.

Develop course ideas with our team
Design lesson structures and progressions
Outline lessons and prepare teaching notes or scripts as needed
Film lessons using your own recording setup

Ability to record clean, professional-quality video and audio at home
Nice to Have
Experience creating online courses
A distinctive teaching approach or niche

Ability to write basic marketing or educational copy
Experience teaching blues, classic rock, acoustic, fingerstyle, or beginner-focused material
Structure & Compensation
Role Structure
This role is paid hourly and is an ongoing, core part of our course creation process.
Rather than one-off projects, we are looking for someone who can consistently own one to two courses at a time, from planning and lesson design through filming and final delivery.
The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule. You will manage your own workflow, with clear expectations around progress, communication, and deadlines. Hours will flex based on each course’s stage, with more time during filming and less during planning or review.
We expect you’ll have other work commitments, such as in-person guitar lessons or other jobs.
This position will begin as a contract role and may grow into a long-term engagement.
Hourly rates will be based on experience, teaching ability, and on-camera presence. Final rates will be discussed during the interview process and aligned with scope and commitment.
We value long-term collaboration and fair pay for high-quality work that helps our students succeed.
How to Apply
Please create a short (2-3 minute) video introducing yourself and send it to jobs@nationalguitaracademy.
In the video, please explain a guitar concept that sets you apart as an instructor and helps your students learn better. A good example from National Guitar Academy is Mike’s stepping stone approach to chords. https://nationalguitaracademy.com/guides/beginners/how-to-use-stepping-stone-chords-to-learn-faster/
The video doesn’t need to be highly produced. The goal is to get a quick sense of your presence on camera and your teaching style.
