While it appears to most people that we just sell training courses (over 20,000 of them), what we really offer is the opportunity for companies to upgrade the skills of each of their employees. 

We are at a pivotal time in our growth as we diversify the ways we drive revenue. We’ve expanded our product offering dramatically, and have a growing network of partners that is developing into a vibrant channel. Our customer base has high satisfaction ratings and there is room to grow our retention even more.

About the Role

We are at a key time for the company in our product strategy and positioning. We need to build out the product marketing function to fully take advantage of the innovation coming from the product team. We are increasing our focus on enterprise customers, and will be adding an account-based approach to everything we do. Our partner channel represents significant growth, and product marketing has a key role to play in that strategy. 

We have a new CMO who has a strong vision for transforming our marketing leadership function to drive this next phase of revenue growth. You will be a key part of this team. This highly visible role is a core collaboration point for product management, marketing, sales, and the partner teams.  

Performance Objectives:

  1. Create the product marketing team for OpenSesame. First order of business is to evolve our messaging to a comprehensive storyline that you will then help translate into every aspect of our go-to-market strategy. This requires a strong collaboration with product management, the revenue teams, our partner team, and marketing. 
  2. Collaborate with demand generation to grow the pipeline to support revenue growth – targeted at  50% per year to reach annual recurring revenue of several hundred million.. 
  3. Create a comprehensive, high-impact product launch process to ensure we drive revenue effectively, and smoothly deliver new offerings.
  4. Ensure we’re super smart about market trends, customer needs, and competitor moves. You know the techniques to do those things. Bring them here and help us increase our effectiveness overall.

We are looking for specific examples from your previous experience that proves you can do this job successfully. We want you to advance your career and are looking for someone who will be excited by this challenge, knowing they can lean on the leadership team around them for growth.

Location: This position can be based anywhere in the US. We operate as a remote-first company, and invest in all-company meetings several times a year. 

Performance Driven: We’re looking for self-starters with a track record of delivering excellent results, but we’re highly selective about who we hire. We don’t focus on typical job requirements, instead, we’re interested in specific examples from your past experiences. All positions can be based anywhere in the US, and require up to 15 days of travel per year, with senior management and leadership teams requiring up to 35 days.
