We have an exciting role as part of a growing startup. Reporting to, and working closely with, the CTO, you’ll play a key role in increasing the effectiveness of Brightflow as you lead and manage critical engineering projects and support our long-term strategy.
Having closed our seed round, we’re expanding and need to have more capabilities to tackle a wide range of opportunities and we need you to manage critical projects with competing stakeholders – helping clarify and ensure success and understanding the long-term goals for Brightflow AI.
Additionally, in a chief of staff type role, you’ll have the opportunity to provide broad support for a variety of the CTO’s activities, facilitating effective decision making and helping execute the company’s highest priorities. As such, this role is a good track for seeing more of the operations of a startup and levelling up your experience across a range of areas. You’ll be able to employ a wide set of skills since this is a broad role and early startups are places where generalists excel.
The role requires:
High collaboration and empathy You enjoy working with others to find the best solutions using diplomacy, and have a keen sense of the perspectives of others (and the CTO).
Exceptional organizational skills You easily track a wide range of activities on the go, knowing the next actions of all key projects, and readily communicating the details as needed.
Outstanding communication ability You are able to communicate succinctly, honing in on priorities as you trade-off detail for clarity and simplicity. Your communication in meetings helps all participants be better understood. You can zoom out to the high-level thinking & summary of activities.
Strong project management You are well practiced in the combination of organization, process execution, follow-up, and directness.
High degree of comfort with ambiguity & nascent ideas You know when to bring order, when to drive to action, and when to simply navigate uncertainty while leaving a project untouched. We’re a startup and this role will be on the leading edge of tackling many of our new efforts.
Flexibility You enjoy adjusting to new priorities, and adapting to the changing landscape of an early-stage startup.
Strong data & learning skills You quickly grasp complex topics, sometimes collecting and parsing data systematically on potential and existing projects and opportunities and doing research as needed.
Action-orientation initiative You exemplify that good-enough completion beats perfection someday and relish ownership of responsibilities.
Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Equity stake in the company.
Flexible vacation policy.
Opportunity for PD opportunities geared specifically for this role.
Managing a company’s finances is hard. A company can grow their revenues; doubling from last years’ record-breaking $5 million in sales. Things may be going great, but there is a problem: the company’s cash may be running out.
That’s where we come in. We help people with simple solutions that give them the financial data and enable actions. We work with companies who have a great product but don’t have a whole finance team. They’re growing and want to stay focused on delighting their customers.
Brightflow AI solutions provide financial insights that translate quickly into understanding. Join us to build the tools that make it happen.
We’ve experienced the pain of getting good financial data easily – it’s this need that drove the creation of Brightflow. We’ve raised money to build the product and already have our first customers that provide us with valuable insights.
We have backgrounds that include several previous VC-backed startups (as founders, managers, and first engineers), private-equity and venture finance, banking, and running our own software companies. Our team members have lived and work in a mix of countries, spoken numerous languages, and experienced many cultures.
We’re growth-minded learners, inspired to understand our customers and pragmatically deliver solutions that solve real problems. We provide a high degree of ownership and autonomy in a highly inclusive culture that fosters transparent, appreciative feedback, respect, and empathy.
