About The Role

G2 is looking for a motivated, creative, and data-driven Community Marketing Manager to join the User Lifecycle & Community team, a dynamic team responsible for user engagement, retention and support on the G2 platform. The role will strategize and implement community-building programs and email campaigns to drive engagement with software reviewers and buyers on G2. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, strategic thinker who takes an entrepreneurial approach to building out new community initiatives and retention campaigns. Members of the User Lifecycle team work together as well as cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure G2 has the largest and most trusted collection of users and user generated content.

In This Role, You Will: 

Community Strategy:

  • Develop and implement an innovative community marketing strategy to drive user engagement and retention, making G2 a community to rely on.
  • Develop and iterate on end-to-end community journey, working closely with UX/Design and Product Management teams to ensure a valuable and consistent user experience across all touchpoints.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness of community marketing initiatives, facilitating data-driven decision-making to deliver on business objectives.

User Engagement Programming:

  • Spearhead program development to foster a vibrant community of software users and buyers on G2, creating a robust calendar of engagement tactics to motivate return visits and user generated content.
  • Build and scale G2’s superuser program to recognize and engage top contributors using virtual events, program perks, and opportunities to spotlight user expertise.
  • Serve as internal advocate for G2 user base, informing key initiatives with impact to our user community.

Email Marketing Campaigns

  • Conceptualize and build email campaigns to engage G2’s audience, including community newsletters, new feature announcements, and gamification-related activities.
  • Craft compelling messaging, copy, and impactful storytelling to amplify value for the G2 community.
  • Collaborate with User Lifecycle team and cross-functional partners to integrate community outreach into overarching communications strategy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience working in online community engagement, marketing, communications or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of community engagement principles, with experience launching or managing company community initiatives.
  • Proven understanding of email marketing best practices to effectively create and optimize user engagement campaigns.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and collaboration among cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Agile and can adapt to changing circumstances or requirements.
  • Can balance working independently with working closely with a global team.
  • Proficiency using email marketing systems, experience with Iterable preferred
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and templating languages like Handlebars.
  • Familiarity with analytical and database tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

What Can Help Your Application Stand Out:

  • Experience working in Iterable (preferred) or another email marketing platform
  • Familiarity with data analytical tools – Looker is preferred 
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and templating languages like Handlebars
  • Community program planning experience including superuser/ambassador programs
  • Experience planning and hosting virtual events
  • Prior B2B SaaS experience
